A bit of GRIMME history

Founded in 1861 in a small town in Lower Saxony called Damme, that remains Grimme HQ to this day.

Over 160 years of market leadership began when Franz Grimme Sr. first produced a row header for horse drawns wheel harvesters, within a few years 1500+ units were being sold per annum.

1969 saw the first self propelled single row harvester produced, and just 5 short years later the introduction of a 2 row harvester, with either an 80 or 100hp Deutz engine.

In 1970 Franz Grimme joined the business after studying industrial and mechanical engineering. He worked his way through multiple positions within the company, before taking the reins from his Father in 1980 with around 350 employees at that time.

Under Franz's direction the business continued to grow into the GRIMME we know today.
